About Me
Composer. Storyteller.
Energy. Attitude. Creativity. From transparent etherealism to massively dense opacity,
Steve Benton will enhance your vision with the music and sound necessary to take it to the next level. A simple moment may need only the slightest touch, a sparse breath of tone to supplement the onscreen performance. Or a scene may require a stirring of the soul, a swelling immensity to conjure up the depths of emotion, allowing the audience to be absorbed into the narrative.
Steve began his musical studies as a percussionist in elementary school and soon picked up the guitar at age 13. He rapidly descended (or ascended?) into a musical vortex that has consumed his life ever since. This led him to the University of North Texas School of Music, where he earned two degrees in music - for composition and classical guitar performance - as well as an insatiable desire to create new worlds through music.
Recognizing film as the pinnacle of the “modern art form,” Steve was naturally drawn to its intriguing relationship of music, visuals and narrative. This led him to Los Angeles where currently resides with his wife and two sons.
